The Sichuan-Tibet Railway is a fast railway connecting Sichuan Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. It runs east-west, starting from Chengdu, Sichuan Province in the east and Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region in the west. Project Introduction

The Sichuan-Tibet Railway is a fast railway connecting Sichuan Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. It runs east-west, starting from Chengdu, Sichuan Province in the east and Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region in the west. It is the second railway into Tibet in China and the main line in southwest China. One of the railways.

The Sichuan-Tibet Railway is constructed by building new lines and merging old lines, and is constructed and operated in stages and sections; the Lalin and Chengya sections started construction in December 2014; the Yalin section started construction in November 2020. On December 28, 2018, the Chengya section of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway was opened for operation.

On June 25, 2021, the Lalin section of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway was opened for operation. The Sichuan-Tibet Railway starts from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province in the east and Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region in the west. The total length of the line is 1838 kilometers (about 1550 kilometers in one word, of which the length of the newly-built main line in Yalin section is 1011 kilometers. The length of the new line in Lalin section is 403.14 kilometers. Chengya section is 140km long), with a design speed of 120 to 200 km/h.
